Lynn Quick

opalCommunity Transport Admin Support Volunteer

Having been made redundant and having more free time I felt it was an opportune time to offer assistance to the voluntary sector. The Community Transport appealed as it was in a field that I had previous experience having worked in a Finance Team supporting Adult Care Services. Helping to support the team during the extremely busy time at the start of each week just helps to alleviate some of the pressure they face. Volunteering is beneficial in two ways - for the volunteer it provides the opportunity to occupy some of their free time in a useful and rewarding way, being able to give something back to their local community and for the organisation it provides a way to boost their stretched resources.
